When we heard about South Korea the first place that we think about is Seoul.Actually, because Seoul is a capital city. Most of Thai people have been in Seoul and some visit Seoul more than once.When I tell to people that I'm going to visit South Korea a lot of people ask me,
“Where in Korea are you going to be? Are you going to be in Seoul?”

Then I said "no, I will be in Daejeon City. People wonder what is Daejeon,where is Daejeon. Since many people are not familiar with Daejeon, I would like to share a few things about the city.

Located in central South Korea about an hour south of Seoul by KTX, 2 hours by bus. Daejeon offers a convenient transportation network with access to every region in the country. Daejeon is a science city There are many University located such as Chungnam National University (I were there), Daejeon University and Hannam University.
Most of Thai people visit Korea for shopping cosmetic, Daejeon also has shopping place as big as Seoul. I would like to recommend "Eunhaengdong"
Eunhaengdong
Eunhaengdong in downtown Daejeon is the fashion center of Daejeon and comparable to famed "Myeong Dong" Shopping district in Seoul and Siam in Thailand. The street packed with a lots of things to see, eat, enjoy. The street fulled with lively street's young shoppers. If you are one who like Korean boys or girls, Eunhaengdong is a good choice. Maybe you would meet your ideal type.

I like Eunhaengdong more than Myoeng Dong because there's not too much people. You don't need to swarm into crowds of people like Myeong Dong. You can take to there by subway at Jungangno station.
Nightlife in Daejeon, if you love drinking and worry that Daejeon doesn't have a good pub or club for chilling.No need to worry because there is "Gungdong." There are many pubs and bars, it's good place to get imported beers or a cocktail.Gungdong is near Chungnam National University

First bar is J.Rock Bar. Just down the street is the most popular bar for expat English teachers from Canada, J Rock. The owner is American and all of the staff speak English. A small, smoky place, it's a great place to get tips from people who've been in Daejeon for a while. There is a small dance floor and a pool table.
Next, I would like to recommend the place for people who love natural. I want to show that Daejeon isn't a concrete jungle. You can find a place for recover your breath "Daecheong Dam."
Daecheong Dam is a multi-purpose dam consisting of a 72m-tall and 495m-long concrete gravity dam and rockfill dam. It is located where Daejeon and Chungcheongbuk-do meet. The observatory, located at Palgakjeong Service Area, offers a great view of Daecheongho Lake. A variety of fascinating items are displayed in the Water Culture Center on the left bank of Daecheong Dam. The last place that I want to show you is "Expo' Park." Expo park is a landmark of Daejeon, it was made for huge science expo in 1993. In its hayday this place looks as though it would have been packed full of people however, it has been a very long time since this place has seen those days.

One more sign of Expo1993 called "Daejeon expo bridge." It's very beautiful bridge with big park and good view. The bridge is very famous at night because it has beautiful light dancing. It's a popular place for teenager's dating.

I compared Daejeon with Huahin(Thailand). There are not a capital city but there is all what you want, I swear.
